Built by Attorneys Who Know
18+ years of active family law practice. Real cases. Real clients. Real deadlines. Every system in Legal Authority Lab has been tested where it matters.
Our Origin Story
We all started in legal aid. We watched people who needed help walk out the door because they couldn’t pay. That stuck with us in a way we couldn’t shake. When we decided to build a law firm together, we made a decision: it would be one that supported working moms — all of us — without requiring us to sacrifice time with our families or burn out chasing billable hours.
Efficiency wasn’t optional. It was survival.
We came up in an era when legal practice meant paper, meetings, and repetitive work. So we built around systems from day one. Flat fees instead of hourly billing. Standard operating procedures for every workflow. Templates for everything. Automation wherever it existed. We weren’t waiting for AI to solve problems we could solve with discipline and process.
Each of us brought something different to the table.
Leisa learned marketing and technology — how to build systems that not only worked internally but could be explained, taught, and scaled. Naz brought substantial trial litigation experience and high-volume case management from her time at the State Attorney’s office, combined with a gift for networking and educating — bringing people together and teaching them what we were learning.
All of us have always been educators. Teaching came naturally because we built things worth teaching.
Then AI opened up in 2022.
Leisa started building inside her own firm. Testing AI paralegals on real cases. Real clients. Real deadlines. Discovery engines. Financial analysis. Pleading generators. Case management systems. The ones that worked got refined. The ones that didn’t got discarded. No theory. No assumptions. Just what actually works when an attorney’s name is on the line.
The bots that survived became a question: What if we built this for other attorneys?
Most legal AI is built by people who have never filed a motion, never faced a deadline that cannot move, never signed their name to a document that matters. Every bot in the Legal Authority Lab catalog is different. It was built by attorneys who have done all of those things — for the better part of two decades — in service of one mission: make it possible for law firms to serve clients at the speed and quality those clients deserve without burning out their people.
We built this because we needed it. We’re offering it because we know other attorneys do too.
The Founders
Leisa Wintz, MS, Esq.
Cofounder — Chief Product & Strategy
Leisa Wintz is Cofounder and Chief Product & Strategy Officer of Legal Authority Lab. A Florida Supreme Court Bar member (FL Bar No. 64399) with 18 years of active family law practice, she founded Family Matters Law Group in 2010 and built it into a lean, systems-driven practice with a single-attorney model and distributed team.
Starting in legal aid, Leisa developed a deep commitment to building law firms that support working mothers and sustainable practice. She brought expertise in marketing, technology, and systems design to FMLG, establishing flat-fee pricing, comprehensive SOPs, and automation infrastructure from the firm’s inception.
In 2022, she began building AI workflow systems inside her own firm — testing every bot on real cases with real clients facing real deadlines. Those systems became the foundation of Legal Authority Lab. She holds a Master of Science degree and leads all product development, custom bot design, sales, and thought leadership for LAL.
Nazarena Hauser, Esq.
Cofounder — Business Operations Partner
Nazarena Hauser is Cofounder and Business Operations Partner at Legal Authority Lab. An attorney with deep experience in trial litigation, high-volume case management, networking, and legal education, she brings expertise in building teams and scaling practice operations.

She brought substantial trial litigation experience and high-volume case management from her time at the State Attorney’s office — skills that shaped how she approached firm management and client service.
Throughout her career, Naz became known for her networking ability and her gift for teaching and educating — bringing people together and sharing knowledge. At LAL, Naz leads business operations, client service delivery, coaching program management, and continues her work in legal education, community building, and thought leadership. She is based in Florida and holds equal ownership of Legal Authority Lab.
Cheryl-Dene Spring

Cheryl-Dene Spring is a Cofounder of Legal Authority Lab and a Florida attorney with 15+ years of combined experience as an attorney, real estate broker, and paralegal. She earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law and her BS in Paralegal Studies from the same institution. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Mediator, licensed real estate broker, and was recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2017–2020).
At LAL, Cheryl-Dene leads operations for Master Valuator, the sister entity delivering real estate CMAs, business valuations, estate valuations, and QDRO calculations — launching Fall 2026. He leads all technical development, infrastructure, and platform engineering for the valuation practice.
At LAL, Henry holds equal ownership alongside Leisa, Naz, and Cheryl-Dene, driving the infrastructure that makes custom bot delivery and the self-service Command Center portal possible. His background in both law and engineering gives him unique insight into building AI systems that attorneys actually need. He is based in Florida.
